Rebecca is a Fine Art Graduate from the University of Southampton's Winchester School of Art.
The main focus of her practice and consequently the pieces that she makes, is public engagement. Her aim is to place work in the public domain in the hope of raising awareness about the political and social issues affecting modern day society. Amongst many, these have included poverty, homelessness, recycling, and the need for blood donors.
Her work to date has included...
- Her installation 'Knitmas' was Door Number 9 in the Woolly Hat Fair Advent Calendar 2015.
- She was shortlisted for the National Fashion Textiles Competition at the Spring Knitting and Stitching show in 2014 at Olympia.
- Undertook a national yarnbombing campaign with the NHS in 2014 to promote the message that "Blood Doesn't Grow on Trees."
-Summer 2015 saw her design and create her first yarnbombing installation 'Knit for Nature,' as an independent artist which was exhibited at the Winchester Hat Fair 2015 from the 3rd-5th of July.
